Once you have set up a portfolio you are able to customise who can see it, which events trigger alerts, who receives them and the priority of the alerts
Customising a Portfolio
To begin, enter into the desired portfolio, which can be found in the Portfolios tab on the left of the main dashboard, and click on the arrow next to ‘Actions’ in the top right. A drop-down menu will appear underneath, and from this select "Edit Portfolio".
Once in the Edit Portfolio menu you will be presented with the option to change information such as name and description, as well as who is listed as a recipient, what events you have set up, and the ability to add more companies via a CSV.
How to share a portfolio
You are able to share your portfolios with other Red Flag Alert users within your organization, so that they can see the relevant companies and events. All other users in your organization's account will be able to access the portfolio, though they will not be able to edit it.
To share a portfolio, click on the "Is Private" toggle in the Edit Portfolio menu, so that the slider is grayed out. Click "Update" in the bottom right to refresh the portfolio.
How to add recipients
You can also add recipients to your portfolio, which means that you can add additional email addresses to receive any monitoring notifications that come through. These email addresses do not need to have Red Flag Alert accounts to receive these notifications, however they will not be able to view the portfolio itself without having access to the system.
To add an email, click on the Recipients tab in the Edit Portfolio menu. A drop down will appear with a field for you to input the relevant email. Once this has been inputted, press enter and ensure that a gray box with the address appears underneath before clicking Update in the bottom right. You can also remove recipients from this section by clicking "X" on any existing emails.
How to edit alerts
When a portfolio is created, alerts will be instantly set as active for all events. From here, you have the ability to either remove undesired events altogether, or set events as "Immediate" meaning that you will receive notifications as soon as they happen rather than in one email at the end of the day. This allows you some flexibility in determining which events are business critical, or are not relevant.
To remove events, click on the Events tab in the Edit Portfolio menu. A list of monitored events will appear here. To turn off specific events, click on the "X" next to them.
If you accidentally delete an event or wish to add one that you had previously deselected, click on ‘Choose your events’. Find the desired event in the drop down list and click on it.
How to receive immediate alerts
To avoid inbox clutter, the Red Flag Alert system will send a daily round up email of alerts for each portfolio (only if there are events to notify you of). However, some events are critical and you may need to know about them instantly.
To enable instant alerts for an event, toggle on the "Is immediate" toggle next to an event in "Selected Events". Should this event trigger, you will receive an instant email alert.
