How are our estimates calculated?

Red Flag Alert company reports provide you with data drawn from different sources to provide an overview of each organisation. Some of the statistics are estimates which are calculated based on those same external sources.

Estimated number of employees

We calculate estimated employees using 19 separate models: one for each industrial classification segment. Each model follows the same approach: depending on the SIC code range, a specific Divisor is applied to the Predicted Estimated Sales figure to produce the Estimated Employee figure.

Estimated Turnover

We calculate estimated turnover using a company's SIC code and financial data.

To give you as the most accurate figure possible, each SIC class has an associated current assets median coefficient that determine using industry data. We then use this and the company's current assets (from accounts up to 36 months old) to provide an estimated turnover.
